Happy 1 year anniversary to us!!!

This post marks Scenic Recovery’s 1 year anniversary! We’re just as surprised as you that we’ve stuck around this long but I’ll tell you one thing, we have no intention of stopping! We have a little surprise give away for you folks thanks to our friends at Planting Seeds Records but first let’s see what’s happening around town this week…

On Friday Dec. 17th the Bastards of Fate share the evening with Roanoke rapping sensation Joneski and Baltimore based DJ Erock! The Just Embrace Love Please gallery will be hosting the event in honor of soon to be former Roanoker and Alaska bound Mary May. This evening will be starting at 9pm with Joneski opening, DJ Erock spinning between sets and the Bastards of Fate bringing it all to a close. Just Embrace Love Please is located on the corner of 1st St. and Kirk Ave. downtown Roanoke.

Also that Friday (17th) the Blues BBQ downtown will host the Browning Brothers for the later part of your evening. Brothers Matt & Ryan Browning will be playing their blend of folk/roots/country starting at 10pm and going late. 21 and up only, free admission!

On Saturday Dec. 18th the Bazaar will host Lynchburg folk act Nick Coward & the Last Battle and singer/songwriter/ Mild Winter member Ben Schlabach. Over the course of the Bazaar’s existence the Lynchburg based group has become a favorite amongst attendees. This will be Nick Coward and the gang’s last show for a while so make sure to come out and check out this great set of musicians from the Hill City. The show starts at 9pm, $5.

Also on Saturday local Roanoke artist, DJ, musician Dickie Eikcid will be hosting his second Glow Party at his Just Embrace Love Please studio/ gallery. Starting at 9pm and going late the Glow Party 2 will feature: Magnetic, Fiyah, Fishstick and Chickin Wing, Andre Da Beast, Uncommonwealth and DJ Illswaggga. This gathering is a part of the Above Ground Club Movement.
